Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a gentle, holistic and effective treatment
for many medical conditions. TCM has been used for over two thousand years in China.
It treats the symptom and considers the body as a connected organism. As well as
providing a short course treatment, TCM is often used as a regular maintenance therapy
by many patients.

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese healing art. It is based on traditional Chinese
medicine theory which believes our health is governed by Chi, the vital energy force.
Chi travels around the body through pathways called meridians. Very fine needles
are inserted to regulate the flow of Chi. Acupuncture treatments aim to stimulate
energy flow and to regain the natural homeostasis or harmony. Needles are only used

What to expect
A session usually lasts 50 minutes. High quality, thin disposable needles are used.
Patients may or may not feel the insertion of needles but there is usually little
or no sensation once they are in. Please ask Bo if you have any questions regarding
Chinese Herbal Medicine
Chinese Herbal Medicine has developed over a period of more than two thousand years.
Many different substances taken from plants are used to treat various conditions
and to tonify the body, strengthening the constitution. The TCM principles behind
Chinese Herbal Medicine can also be applied to dietary advice; simple examples would
be using ginger to warm the body or drinking Chinese honeysuckle tea to cool it.
Chinese herbs can be taken in various forms: tea made from dried herbs, powder or
tincture. Herbs used in the UK are free from animal products & minerals.

What to expect
On your initial visit, a full medical history will be taken and you can discuss your
condition and concerns with Bo. Traditional diagnostic techniques include inspecting
the tongue and Chinese pulse diagnosis.
